Our office is tucked away in Taloja, right behind the Deepak Nitrite plant. If you know this part of Navi Mumbai, you know it’s mostly factories and trucks moving around all day long. We’ve been operating out of Kamar Estate in Devicha Pada for a while now. It’s a busy spot in the M.I.D.C. zone. The air is always heavy with the smell of industry and there’s usually a layer of dust on everything, but that’s just how it is here. Qamar Contracting Private Limited isn't a fancy setup. We have a few desks, some old cupboards for files, and a lot of maps and site drawings pinned to the walls. Most of our day is spent talking to supervisors or dealing with supply issues. It gets really hot in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans never stop. People from the nearby units often drop by for a quick chat or to borrow some tools. We started this because we knew the Panvel and Thane areas well and saw how much building was happening. It’s hard work and the hours are long, especially when a project is near a deadline. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the work, making sure the labor shows up on time, and keeping the machines running. We’ve lived and worked in this belt for years, so we’re used to the noise of the Taloja industrial area.
