Prachi Steel

Prachi Steel is based in Varasgaon village, which is right near the Mumbai-Goa Highway. We get our mail through the Kolad post office, and we are part of the Roha Taluka. It’s a good spot because we are close to the main road, which helps with moving our steel supplies. The highway is always busy with people traveling to the coast, and we see a lot of traffic passing by our gate. We are a small operation, mostly serving the local builders and people in the nearby villages. We don’t have any fancy corporate offices or a marketing budget. It’s just a yard with a lot of metal and a small shed where we keep the records. The work is physical and we spend most of our time outdoors. During the summer it gets really hot, and in the monsoon, the ground gets very soft and muddy. We just deal with it as it comes. We’ve been here for several years now and we have a good relationship with the local people. We don't try to compete with the big city suppliers. We just focus on our own corner of the world. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the sound of the trucks on the highway. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
