Nerul is a busy place, but our little spot at Park View in Sector 17 stays pretty lively in its own way. It’s basically just Bungalow 1, and we’ve turned the rooms into spaces where the kids can run around without bumping into too much stuff. The morning starts early when the parents pull up outside. Navi Mumbai gets quite humid, so we keep the fans going all day. There’s always some toy on the floor that someone forgot to pick up. We try to keep things organized, but with small children, that’s a losing battle most days. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we walk or take a rickshaw to get here. It’s nice being near the park because sometimes you can hear the birds. We spend a lot of time cutting paper and looking for lost shoes. It’s a simple setup. Nothing too polished or high-tech. The walls have drawings taped all over them, and some of the paint is peeling near the corners. We make sure the water filter is full and the snacks are ready. It’s just a normal day of watching over the kids and making sure they don’t cry too much. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise during playtime, but that’s part of having a school in a residential bungalow. We just do our work and go home to get ready for the next day.
