Patil Hospital

Being in Sector 5 here in Nerul means we see a lot of the same faces every week. This part of Navi Mumbai has grown so much over the years, but our little corner feels pretty much the same as it always has. We are just a local hospital trying to take care of whatever comes through the door. The mornings are usually the busiest time when people are heading out to work or taking kids to school. We have a small waiting area that fills up pretty quick if three or four families show up at once. It’s not a huge place, just a simple setup with the basic rooms we need to see patients. You won't find any shiny marble floors or big reception desks here. It’s mostly just us, some files, and the sound of the ceiling fans. We deal with everything from small scrapes to people feeling under the weather. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when the phone won't stop ringing and someone is asking for a form at the same time, but we manage to get through it. Most of our staff lives nearby, so we walk or take a rickshaw to get in every morning. It’s a quiet life in Sector 5, and we just fit into the rhythm of the neighborhood. We stay open until the last person is seen and then we lock the doors for the night. It's nothing special, just a place for people who live nearby in Nerul to come when they need us.
