Mahindra Cie Automotive Ltd

We work out at the Urse Plant, which is right along the Pune Mumbai Bangalore Highway. It’s a massive site, so it feels very different from a small shop in the city. Mahindra Cie Automotive Ltd is a big operation, but when you’re on the floor, it’s just about the machines and the metal. The wind really picks up out here near the highway, and you can see the hills in the distance. Inside the plant, the noise is the main thing you notice—constant thudding and whirring from the production lines. It’s a long walk from the main gate to the actual workstations. We have these yellow lines painted on the floor to show where to walk, and everyone is usually in their work gear. It’s not a place for fancy clothes or sitting around. The air smells like oil and hot steel. We work in shifts, so there’s always a group of people coming in while another group is heading out to catch the bus back to Pune or wherever they live. The canteen is where we all gather to take a break and get some food away from the noise. It’s a very structured environment, but it still has its quirks, like the old lockers or the way the light hits the floor in the morning. We just focus on our section of the line and make sure everything is moving. It’s a big place, but we just take it one day at a time.
