I J Human Rights Protection Council

Our office is over in Salokhe Park, specifically in the Manisha Nagar Housing Society. If you’re familiar with the B Ward area, you’ll know it’s a pretty decent spot. We’ve been operating the I J Human Rights Protection Council from here for some time now. It’s not some glass-walled corporate building. It’s just a regular place where we sit down and look at the issues people bring to us. Sometimes people come in quite upset about something that happened, and we do what we can to guide them. It’s mostly about understanding what the rules are and making sure everyone gets treated fairly. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture. Just some chairs, a few desks, and a lot of documents. Working in Kolhapur has its own rhythm. We know the neighbors and they know what we do. It’s important to have a presence here because sometimes folks don’t know where else to go. We keep the door open and try to stay useful to anyone who needs it. The society is usually quiet, which helps when we need to focus on a difficult case. We don’t claim to have all the answers. We just put in the time and try to be honest with everyone who walks through the door. It’s a lot of paperwork and talking to people, but it’s what we chose to do. We’ve been at Rs No. 609/70/3 for a while and plan to stay here for much longer.
