About Casp Council For Arts And Social Practice – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Raigad
Our place is in Jai Ganesh Co-Operative Housing Society over in Sector 20, Kharghar. We’re in B-501, which is on Plot 31. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main part of Mumbai, but Navi Mumbai is where we’ve settled. Casp Council For Arts And Social Practice is what the paperwork says, but we just think of it as our workspace. There’s usually art supplies or social reports scattered across the tables. It’s not the tidiest office, but we know where everything is. We spend time thinking about how art fits into the world and talking to people in the community. The building is pretty standard for Kharghar. We have a balcony where we sometimes take breaks. It’s a quiet area, which helps when we’re trying to focus. We don’t go for the corporate look. No glass walls or shiny floors here. Just a lot of books and maybe a few half-finished projects. People drop by sometimes to share ideas. We listen and see if we can help out. It’s a slow process sometimes, but we’re okay with that. We’ve been at this for a bit, and the neighborhood feels like home now. Just a regular bunch of people doing creative and social work in a regular apartment. We try to keep it simple and honest. If the bell rings, it’s usually a neighbor or a delivery. It’s a good way to live.
