Out here in Chakan, things are always moving fast. We are located at Plot A-43 in Phase II, which is part of Sawardari village in Khed. It’s a huge area filled with factories and trucks. Every morning, the roads get packed with people heading to work. We spend our days dealing with tires and all the rubber that comes through. The facility is big and it can get quite hot inside when the machines are running full tilt. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There’s always the sound of forklifts or something being moved around on the floor. We’ve got a lot of people working different shifts to keep things going. Sometimes it feels like the work never stops. The village nearby is quiet compared to the noise we make here. We just focus on getting the tires out and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the shift. It’s a lot of physical work and you definitely end the day with dirty hands. We don't really do much besides the manufacturing part. It’s just a regular industrial job for most of us. We see the same faces every day and try to get through the list of tasks. The Chakan sun can be brutal in the summer, but we have our routines. That’s pretty much the life at this plant. It is noisy but we are used to it.
