Asraa Igl Foundation operates from Bendre's Vedic Farm, which is situated in Dahivali Tarfe Varedi. To get here, you have to take the Vanzarpada Road heading out from Neral East in the Raigad district. It is a very different environment from a standard office building in the city. Since we are on a farm, things are a lot more open and there is plenty of fresh air, though the roads can be a bit bumpy after a heavy rain. We have set up our workspace in one of the structures on the property. It is practical and does not have any of the usual office frills. We spend a lot of time outdoors or in the shaded areas when the weather allows. Working from a farm means we have to be a bit more self-reliant with things like internet and supplies. We keep our files in metal cabinets to protect them from the humidity. The atmosphere is generally quite calm, though you might hear the usual farm noises or the sound of a tractor in the distance. We do not have a formal dress code here; we just wear what is comfortable for the heat and the dust. Most of our day is spent coordinating activities and making sure our records are updated.
