Akancha Srivastava Foundation

We are based in Kamothe, specifically at 402, Ghar Aangan, which is in Sector 19. This is out in the Kalamboli Node area of Raigarh. It’s a bit of a trek from the main part of Mumbai, but we like it here. The building is a regular residential complex, and we’ve turned one of the units into our workspace for the Akancha Srivastava Foundation. It feels very personal, not like those cold offices in the business districts. We spend our days dealing with various issues that people bring to us. Sometimes the monsoon rains in Raigarh make it hard to get around, but we stay busy inside. We have a few computers and a lot of notebooks where we keep track of everything. People often call us because they've heard about what we do for safety and awareness. We don't use any big words or complicated processes. We just talk to people like they are our friends and try to give them some practical advice. It’s a small team, and we all know each other well. Often we end up staying late, drinking way too much tea and trying to finish all the work. We aren't looking to grow into a massive corporation. We just want to keep doing our thing from this little corner of Kamothe. It’s a quiet life, but the work we do feels quite important to us and the people who visit our flat.
