Our spot is over at Plot No A 88 in the MIDC Taloja area, out here in Panvel. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from an industrial zone in Raigarh. There is a lot of noise during the day with all the machinery and trucks moving in and out of the gates. The sun gets really hot on the metal roof during the summer months, and when the monsoon hits Maharashtra, the whole yard gets quite messy. We spend most of our time just managing the inventory and making sure the steel goes where it needs to go. The office isn't anything special, just a few desks and a lot of files piled up. Most of the staff live nearby or commute from the main part of Panvel. We usually start pretty early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. You can hear the sounds of the other factories around us all day long. It is a busy place, and there is always something that needs to be moved or sorted. We don't really have time for fancy stuff. It’s mostly just about getting the work done and dealing with the daily grind of the industrial area. The tea stall down the road is where most of us end up during the afternoon break. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep things moving. We don't worry about being polished; we just focus on the load that needs to go out next.
