Hasan Store has been sitting at 586 in Devadurga for a long time. Raichur gets quite hot, so we spend a lot of time trying to stay cool inside while we wait for customers. It is just a regular shop where we sell what people need day-to-day. My father started it, or maybe it was just always here in some form, I can't really remember. We have shelves that are a bit old and a floor that’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in town, just a place that’s open when someone needs a quick item. Being at 586 means we are easy to find if you know the area. The street outside can get busy with people going about their business, especially on market days. We have a lot of conversations about the weather or how the crops are doing because that's what people talk about in Raichur. It’s not a complicated business. We buy things, we put them on the shelf, and we sell them. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit in the dark for a bit, but that’s just how it goes. We don't have any big plans to change anything. We just like being part of the neighborhood and seeing the same people come in week after week. It’s a steady job and we’re happy enough with it. No big fuss here.
