Akshtha Chits is located right in Ward No 01 at the Gurukrupa Complex. If you are driving down Sindhanur Road in Maski, you can’t really miss the building. It’s where we do all our daily paperwork and meet with people from around Lingusur. We’ve been set up here for a while now, just handling the regular monthly chit cycles. The office isn't anything fancy, just a practical space with some desks and chairs where we keep the ledgers updated. Most mornings start with checking the collections and making sure the entries for the previous day are all correct. It gets a bit busy during the auction days when more people come by at once. We usually have some tea and sit down to talk through the numbers. There is always someone around to answer questions if a member stops in. Dealing with money and savings means we have to stay organized, so there’s a lot of filing happening. The complex itself has a few other shops, so there is always some noise from the street. It’s a local spot where everyone kind of knows each other. We don’t do big advertisements or anything like that. Word usually travels by mouth from one neighbor to the next. It’s just a straightforward operation. We make sure the records are kept neat and the dates are followed. That is pretty much how things go every week here in Maski. It’s a routine that works for us.
