Shree Mayakkadevi Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based out of House No. 1090 in Raibag. It’s a group of us local farmers who finally decided to pull together because doing everything alone was getting way too expensive and difficult for most. Shree Mayakkadevi is the name we picked for our little producer group. Raibag is the kind of place where you either know about farming or you’re probably lost. We spend our mornings checking on the water levels and making sure the harvest is going to be okay for everyone involved. It is not a big corporate thing with a boss in a suit. It’s just a bunch of neighbors sitting around a table in a small house trying to figure out how to sell our produce for a halfway fair price. Some days we argue about the best way to plant a certain crop, and other days we just drink tea and talk about the clouds. We handle everything ourselves from this little spot in the village. It gets very dusty in the summer and quite muddy when the monsoon hits, but that’s just Raibag for you. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just have our hands and the land we’ve always worked. Being a producer company means we can buy things like fertilizer in bigger batches, which helps everyone’s pocket a bit. It’s been a big learning curve for us, figuring out all the paperwork. But we’re still here at house 1090.
