Manikanta Paper & Tea Cups

Our setup is at H. No 11-178 in Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, over in Shapur Nagar, Quthubullapur. We make paper cups and tea cups, which sounds simple but keeps us very busy. If you visit, you’ll hear the rhythmic thumping of the machines all day long. It’s a constant sound that we’ve almost stopped hearing after all this time. We started this small unit because every tea stall and office around here needs cups. Shapur Nagar is a very industrial and working-class area, so there is a lot of demand for what we make. The floor is usually covered in paper scraps, and we have stacks of boxes waiting to be shipped out to the local tea shops. It’s not a clean, quiet environment. It’s hot and noisy, and there is always a sense of urgency to meet the day’s production. We don’t have a sales team or anything like that. Most of our customers are people who have been buying from us for years. They just call or drop by when they are running low on supplies. We just focus on keeping the machines running and making sure the cups don't leak when someone is drinking their chai. It’s a basic business, but it’s ours. We take pride in the fact that many of the tea cups used in this part of Quthubullapur come from our little shop in Sanjay Gandhi Nagar. It’s honest work for honest pay every day.
