Travel Mentors is tucked away in Pimpalcotto, right near the Corporation Bank. We’ve been here for a while. It’s not a huge operation. We mostly help people plan out their trips when they aren't sure where to start. A lot of folks come in wanting to go somewhere but they don't know the routes or a good way to save money on tickets. We sit down and talk it through. It’s more like a conversation than a business meeting. The office is small and we have some old travel brochures stacked up in the corner. We don't use those fancy booking systems that the big companies have. We just use our experience and look things up online like everyone else. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we just have a cup of tea and wait for the page to load. It’s a relaxed atmosphere. People from the neighborhood stop by just to ask about visa rules or bus timings. We try to give honest advice, even if it means telling someone they shouldn't go somewhere because it’s the wrong season for that place. We aren't trying to sell expensive tours. We just want to make sure people have a good time and don't get lost or overspend. It's a simple business. Being near the bank makes it easy for people to find us. We’ve been part of the community here for a long time and we like it that way. It's good to see people come back with photos from trips they took with their families all over the country.
