Hh Red Bricks

Hh Red Bricks is located in Sajipanadu, which is part of the Bantwal Taluk near Mangalore. This area is known for its soil, so it makes sense for us to be here. We spend our days working with the red earth, shaping it and firing it in the kilns. It is a very physical job, and the Mangalore weather can be a real challenge sometimes. When the heavy rains come, everything gets soaked and we have to pause the drying process. That’s just the way it is when you work with the elements. Our setup in Sajipanadu is pretty basic. We have the firing pits, the drying sheds, and a lot of open space for storage. We don't have a polished sales pitch or a fancy office. Most of the time, we are just out in the yard with mud on our boots. People from around Bantwal come to us when they need materials for their construction projects. We just give them a fair price and show them what we have available. The routine doesn't change much from year to year. We dig the clay, we mold the bricks, we burn them, and then we sell them. It’s a simple cycle that keeps us busy all year round, except maybe for the worst part of the monsoon. We are just a local team doing what we know how to do. The red dust becomes a part of you after a while working here.
