About Arasu Rabit Park – Agriculture & Farming in Puttur
This farm is our life out here in Balnadu Village. We are located at Kullamajalu House, which is near the Ujripade post. It’s a quiet part of D. K. and we like it that way. We didn't know much about rabbits when we first started. We just had a couple and then things grew from there. Now we have the whole park area set up for them. It is a lot of work that people don't see. You have to clean the cages every single morning or it starts to smell. We grow some of the greens they eat right here on the land. My hands are always dirty from the soil or the hay. It isn't a fancy place for tourists, even though we call it a park. It’s more of a working farm. People from the village come by to ask for advice or sometimes they want to buy a rabbit for their kids. We spend most of our day outside. The weather can be tough when it’s pouring rain, but the animals still need to be fed. It’s just a small family thing. We don't have any employees, just us working the land. We learned everything the hard way by making mistakes. It’s a slow way to make a living, but it feels good to be out in the fresh air instead of an office.
