Tata Projects Limited

Our office is located over at Kallu Khan’s place in Naya-Basti, right along J.K. College Road in Purulia. It is a busy little area, especially when the college students are out and about. We have been set up here for a bit now, and the location works well enough for what we need to do. The building is simple, nothing like those big glass towers you see in the major cities. Inside, it’s mostly desks and piles of files. Being in West Bengal, the weather gets quite heavy during the monsoon, and the road can get a bit muddy, but we manage. Purulia has its own pace, a bit slower than Kolkata, which we don’t mind at all. Most of us walk or take a cycle rickshaw to get to the office from the nearby bus stand. There is a small tea stall just down the road where we usually end up during our breaks to talk about the day’s work. We don’t really do anything fancy here, just focus on the projects assigned to this branch of Tata Projects Limited. It is a functional space where the local team gathers to sort out the logistics and paperwork. Sometimes the neighbors drop by to say hello, making it feel more like a home than a corporate office. We like the local feel of Naya-Basti and the fact that everyone knows each other by name around here.
