Pragati Cemex

Our office is on the 2nd floor of Pragati Plaza, right there on Ranchi Road in Purulia. It’s a busy spot, and you can always hear the trucks and cars going by outside. Being involved with cement and building materials means things can get a bit messy, but we try to keep the office side of things tidy. We deal with a lot of builders and local contractors who need supplies for their projects. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, but we’re used to it by now. In Purulia, you have to be ready for the heat, and our fans are usually running at full speed all day long. We have a small group of people working here, mostly handling orders and making sure the deliveries are going to the right places. It isn't always smooth, and sometimes the trucks get delayed, which causes a bit of stress. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking invoices against what’s in the yard. It’s a practical business, and we don't have much room for anything that isn't necessary. Most days we just focus on getting the orders filled so people can keep building. It’s hard work, but seeing new houses and walls go up around town makes us feel like we’re part of something real. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing.
