Pruthibi Masala

Pruthibi Masala is located over in Ashok Nagar in the Khorda area. We are quite close to the spots where the tourists usually go, so there is always a bit of a crowd walking around outside. The shop is not very large, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. Most of our day is spent around the grinders and the big bags of raw spices that come in from the market. It gets pretty dusty and the smell of the pepper and turmeric is always hanging in the air. You can probably smell us before you even see the sign. We just work here every day, sitting on the stools and packing the masala into small bags. It is a simple setup without any fancy machines or shiny floors. The walls have some stains from the spice dust, but we keep the place as clean as we can. Being in Khorda, we see a lot of different people every day. Some people just stop by because they are visiting the nearby tourist places and they get curious about the smell. We have been in Ashok Nagar for a bit now and the neighbors are used to the noise of the machines. It is just a regular local spot where we get the work done. We do not have a big office or anything, just the workspace and a lot of bags to fill before the sun goes down. Most evenings we just lock up the shop and head home feeling pretty tired.
