Nilachakra Tour & Travels

Our office is right on Grand Road, which is pretty much the center of everything here in Puri. If you find the Dood Wala Dharmashala, we are right there in front of it. It’s a loud spot because of all the rickshaws and pilgrims constantly moving toward the temple, but we like being where the action is. Nilachakra Tour & Travels has been here for a good amount of time now. We started small, just helping people find a way to get around the state without spending too much. It gets very dusty on the main road, so we spend half our morning just cleaning the windows and the desks. People walk in all day asking for directions or wanting to book a car for the weekend. We don't have a corporate script or anything like that. We just talk to folks like we’re talking to our neighbors. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit by the door to catch a breeze. It's a real local operation. My brother and I handle most of it, from talking to the drivers to making sure the paperwork is sorted. During Rath Yatra, this whole street is a different world, and we just try to keep things moving as best as we can. It's a lot of work and some days are better than others, but we’ve been doing this long enough to know how to handle the rush. We just stay here and do our bit.
