Nandi Craft

Nandi Craft is located at New Handloom Garden on Sea Beach Road. We are very close to the Bharat Sevasharam Sangha School, so it is easy for people to find our shop. Being near the sea is nice because there is always a breeze, though the salt air can be tough on some of our materials. We spend our days here making various crafts and showing them to whoever walks in. It’s a small place but we have it filled with all sorts of things we’ve put together. Most of our work is done right here in the back of the shop. We don’t have any big machines, just some basic tools and our hands. It gets a bit loud when the school kids are out, but we don’t mind the noise. We’ve been at this location for a while and we’ve gotten to know the people who live nearby. We don't try to act like a big company. We are just local people making things we think are useful or look good. The floor is usually covered in bits of string or wood, but that’s just how it is when you’re working. If you're walking along Sea Beach Road, you can just pop in and see what we are doing. We are usually around most days. There is no pressure to buy anything, we just like having folks see the work we do.
