Libra Social Research Foundation

We are set up in Janak Puri, at the C3A/94C address. It’s a typical residential block, so it doesn't really look like a research center from the outside. We’ve got a few rooms filled with books, old journals, and a couple of computers that have been around for a few years. It’s a bit cluttered, to be honest. Research takes up a lot of physical space when you start printing things out and taking notes. We spend a lot of time reading and discussing whatever project we are currently looking into. There isn't any corporate polish here. We wear regular clothes and often have lunch at our desks while we work. Janak Puri is a busy place, and there’s always something happening on the street, which can be a bit distracting when you’re trying to focus. But we like being part of the community here. We aren't tucked away in some high-rise building. We are right here on the ground floor. Sometimes neighbors drop by just to say hello or ask what we are studying. We don't have a big budget for fancy things, so we make do with what we have. It’s just a handful of us who are interested in social issues and want to look at the data. We keep things simple and just get on with it without making a big show of the whole thing. It is a slow process but we like it.
