Out here in Bhimpur, near Pahala in Bhubaneswar, life moves a bit slower than in the city. Our small setup for grains is right in the middle of it all. We deal with different types of grains and flours. It’s a simple process of cleaning, sorting, and packing. We don't use any fancy chemicals or strange processes. It is just the way our parents taught us, but with a bit more space now. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a functional space where we can keep things dry and clean. We have a few people from the village who come in every morning to help with the bagging. We don't really have a big management structure. We just talk about what needs to be done over a glass of water in the morning and then we get to it. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common here, so we just wait it out or do the manual stuff in the meantime. We don't try to sound like a big company because we aren't. We are just local people working with the food that grows around here. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. If you're ever near Pahala, you'll probably find us by the sound of the grain sifters or the smell of the freshly milled flour. We like it that way.
