Our spot here in Orissa is out in Khatia, near Sarankul in the Nayagarh district. It’s a different world compared to the big city offices. Out here, the pace is dictated by the environment. We are part of the Bhushan Steel operations in the state, and this location is where we handle the ground-level stuff. The air is a bit different, and you can see the trees, which is nice. We spend our days at the site making sure things are moving along. It’s a practical life. There isn't much in the way of fancy shops nearby, so we mostly stick to the local canteen or bring our own food from home. The office is basic—just some chairs, tables, and the necessary paperwork for the Orissa branch. We deal with a lot of local labor and transport issues that you only find in this part of the country. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or use the generator if it’s urgent. It’s a bit of a trek to get here from the main towns, but we’re used to the roads by now. We don't pretend to be anything but a working-class setup. Most of us have lived in Nayagarh or nearby for a long time. We know the land and we know the steel. It’s just about getting the daily logs finished and seeing the trucks head out on time every single day.
