Baba Bricks

If you head out to Balunka Village in Nimapada, you’ll find Baba Bricks near the Amareswar Temple. We are right there at the Amareswar post in the Puri District. Being so close to the temple means a lot of people pass by us every day. It’s a quiet village setting for the most part, though the brickwork itself can get a bit loud and dusty. We’ve become a familiar sight for the locals who live around here. We don't have a fancy setup. It’s just the land, the kilns, and the stacks of bricks we’ve finished. Our work follows the rhythm of the village and the seasons. When the festivals come around at the temple, things get even busier on the road. We just keep our heads down and focus on the mud and the fire. It is hard work, but it’s what we know. There isn’t a lot of complicated paperwork or management styles here. We just talk to each other and get the bricks moved. People from all over the Puri district know about our location because the temple is such a well-known landmark. We’re glad to be a part of this community in Balunka. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’re out there every day making sure things are done right. The sun goes up, we work, and the sun goes down.
