We are situated on Jagannath Temple Road in Konark. It’s a very old part of town. Being near the Jagannath Temple means we see a lot of people every day. Amon Trading Co. has been in this spot for quite some time. We deal with trading various items that people in Konark need. It’s a busy street, especially during festivals. I have to keep the front of the shop clear so people can walk by. Inside, it’s filled with stock. I try to keep things where I can find them, but it’s a bit of a maze. The temple is just a short walk away, and you can hear the bells sometimes. I started this company because I wanted to work for myself. It’s hard work, and the days are long. I handle all the loading and unloading mostly. Konark is a beautiful place, but running a business here takes patience. The tourists pass by, but my main customers are the locals who live on Jagannath Temple Road. We don't have any big signs or fancy lights. Just the name above the door. It’s a practical shop for practical people. I’m usually there from dawn until late evening. It’s just how it is. My small metal box for the money has worked for years. Sometimes I get tired of the noise, but then I remember I’m lucky to have a shop in such a famous spot. The stone walls of the building stay cool even when it’s hot outside.
