Ahyan Tours

Our little office for Ahyan Tours is tucked away in Alam Chandi Lane. If you know the Kumbharapada area, you know the streets can be a bit narrow and winding. It took us a while to get the sign put up just right so people wouldn't miss the turn. We aren't a big company with shiny windows or anything like that. It is mostly just us sitting around the table, working through the daily logs. Some days it is quiet, and other days the phone won't stop ringing. The building is an older one, so it stays fairly cool even when the sun is really hitting the pavement outside. We’ve lived in Puri all our lives, so setting up a business here felt like the right thing to do. We know the shortcuts and the places that get too crowded at the wrong times. Usually, someone is always here from early morning until late evening. We keep a pot of tea going most of the time. People drop by just to ask for directions or to see if we have a car available for the next day. We don't use any fancy software, just some notebooks and our own memories of the routes. It feels more personal that way, I think. Sometimes the neighbor's dog sits by the door and waits for scraps. It is just a regular local spot where we try to get things done without making a big deal out of it.
