Rmo Rainbow Mustard Oil India Private Limited is located in Bariarpur in the Motihari area. Sunil Kumar Mishra is the one who really got this whole thing started. We make mustard oil which is something everyone uses around here in East Champaran. The oil press makes a lot of noise but you get used to it after a few days. We spend our days dealing with the piles of seeds and the dark yellow oil that comes out of the machine. It is a messy job and the floors can get very slippery if we do not scrub them down. We are not some big city brand that you see on television with fancy commercials. We just have our mill here in the village area. People from all over Motihari know where we are and come to get their oil. We load up the containers and send them out on the back of trucks. Sometimes the mustard harvest is good and sometimes it is poor. We just take whatever comes our way and keep going. It gets very hot in the summer months standing near the big machines. We drink a lot of tea and just keep working through the heat. The building is just a functional space for the equipment. We do not have any time for decorating or making it look pretty. We just focus on pressing the oil and keeping things moving.
