Munj Craft Producer Company Limited is based out in Kurahawa village. If you know the Ahirauli Bazar area, we are not too far from there. Our work is mostly about local crafts and using materials that are around us. It is a village setup, so things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities. We have a group of people from the village who come together to make these items. Most of the work is done by hand, sitting on mats or small stools. It is a lot of weaving and tying knots. You will see people chatting while they work because it is a community thing as much as it is a job. The place gets quite dusty during the dry season and we have to keep covering the finished goods. We don't have a massive factory or anything like that. It is just a practical space where we can gather and produce what we need to. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to get materials delivered to Kurahawa, so we just manage with what we have in stock. The bazar nearby is where we see most of the local trade happening. We are just trying to keep the traditional craft going while making enough to keep everyone busy. It is honest work and it keeps the local hands occupied. There is always someone dropping by to check on the progress or just to say hello to the workers.
