D-Pond Salmons Private Limited

D-Pond Salmons Private Limited is a local project we have going in Vill-Serra. We are set up at Ashok Sharma’s place, he is the son of Ram Brij Sharma. If you go to Post-Kharihani and ask around, anyone can tell you where the house is. This is a very rural area in Mehngar. We are working on these salmon ponds, and it takes a lot of effort to get the water conditions right. We spend hours walking around the ponds and checking the levels every day. It is not like those big industrial fish farms you see on the news. This is a hands-on village operation. The dust from the dirt roads gets on everything we own. When the monsoon hits, the paths around the ponds turn into thick mud and we just have to wear our heavy boots and keep going. My neighbor helps out with the night shifts because someone always needs to be watching the water. It is a quiet village life for the most part. We do not have any marketing people or a fancy office. Ashok handles the local matters and we just try to keep the fish healthy. Sometimes the water pumps break down and we spend the whole day covered in grease trying to fix them. It is honest work and we are just trying to build something here in Serra.
