Champaran Tea & Industries Private Limited

We are located at Sumitra Complex, over in Ward 10 in Ramnagar. If you know the Taulaha area, you know it’s a bit of a trek to get out here sometimes. We’ve been running the tea business for a while now. It’s mostly just us working through the bags of tea leaves that come in from the gardens. It isn't a fancy operation with shiny desks or anything like that. We spend most of our time in the warehouse area. The air always smells like dried leaves and old wood. Some mornings it is so quiet you can hear the birds out by the village fields, and then the trucks show up and everything gets loud. We handle a lot of the sorting ourselves. It's a lot of standing on your feet and checking the quality of the batches. My brother helps with the paperwork, but he’d rather be out back with the rest of us. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make sure the tea we send out to the local shops is good enough to drink. The rain can be a real pain when we’re trying to load the vehicles, as the mud around the complex gets thick. We just put on our boots and get on with it. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. We’ve lived in this part of Ramnagar for years, so we know most of the people who come by to chat or pick up orders.
