You can find us in Station Para, right over in Purbasthali. Being near the station means we hear the trains coming and going all day long. It’s a rhythmic sound that you stop noticing after a week or two. The Purba Burdwan district can be quite a busy place, but our little corner feels more like a community. Prasenjit started this thing up and we’ve just been keeping it going. It’s a small office, mostly filled with files and some old wooden chairs that have seen better days. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you walk in, you’re likely to see one of us leaning over a desk or drinking a cup of tea. We spend a lot of time talking to the locals who drop by just to say hello or ask a question. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We're more focused on getting the daily tasks finished. When the monsoon hits, the sound on the tin roof is so loud we have to shout to hear each other. It’s just us doing our best with what we have. No big corporate meetings or fancy reports here. We just write things down, check them twice, and make sure everything is in order before the last train of the evening passes by. We’ve been here long enough that people just know us by name now.
