MECEL CONSTRUCTION

We are based out of Sherpur Telengabard, near the post office in Contai. Construction is a tough business around here because of the weather and the roads. We spend a lot of time out on sites, so the office is often empty during the day. MECEL CONSTRUCTION isn't a giant company with cranes everywhere, but we have our own trucks and a good crew of local guys. We mostly handle smaller building projects or renovations for people in the village and the surrounding area. There is always a lot of mud and cement involved, and my boots are never clean. We talk to the clients on their porches or right there in the dirt. It’s not about blueprints and fancy computers for us; it’s about where the wall goes and if the roof is straight. Sometimes the supplies arrive late because the roads get washed out, but we find a way to make it work. We’ve built houses and walls all over this district. People know where to find us if they need something fixed or built from scratch. It’s good to see the things we build still standing years later. It’s quiet work, mostly just the sound of hammers and shovels, and that suits us just fine. We just keep our heads down and finish the job as best we can. There is always something new to fix or a fresh foundation to pour for a neighbor.
