Anjali Book House

You can find us in Uttar Mechogram, which is part of Panskura in the Purba Medinipur district. It is a bit far out if you are used to the big city, but we like the pace here. The shop is a simple place where we keep books for the local schools and the families living nearby. Most of our time is spent talking to parents who are looking for school books or kids wanting something to read for fun. It is not a fancy building, just a regular spot in the village area. We have to bring in most of our books from further away, so when a shipment arrives, it is a big deal and we spend the whole day unpacking. The weather out here can be a bit much, especially in the summer, but we keep the fans going and stay open anyway. Panskura is a nice place, and we feel like a part of the community here in Uttar Mechogram. We don't have a computer system to track everything, so we just use a big notebook and our memory. It works well enough for us. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next trip to the city to get more. It is just how things are done here. We enjoy the quiet mornings before the crowd starts coming in. It is a simple life running a book house for everyone.
