If you find yourself at the Goura Bus Stand in Sekendari, you’ll see where we are located. Being right near a bus stand means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around at all hours. Rajinder Kumar is the name on our front, and we’ve been part of this Daspur area for quite some time now. It’s a very busy spot in Paschim Midnapur, especially when the morning buses arrive from the other towns. People are usually in a hurry, trying to catch their ride or getting off to head home after a long day of work. We see a lot of different faces every single day. The shop isn't very large, but it’s positioned right where all the action is. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the middle of the day, but we keep the doors wide open to catch whatever little breeze there is. We don’t have a lot of fancy furniture or a place to lounge. Just some basic chairs and the counter where we handle everything. It’s a very straightforward way to live and work. We’ve gotten used to the sound of the bus horns and the conductors shouting out their destinations. It becomes like background music after you've been here for a few weeks. Most of our regulars are the people who work at the stand or the drivers who pass through daily. It’s just an honest place to work and meet people from all over.
