Krishisakshi Farmer Producer Company Limited is a collective of farmers from Basantia in Purba Medinipur. We run things from Manoj Kumar Das’s place. We aren't a big, cold corporation from a city far away. We’re the people you see every day at the tea shop or working in the fields nearby. We decided to join forces and start this company because farming on your own is getting harder and harder. When we work together, we can get better prices for our crops and save some money on the things we need to buy, like seeds and tools. It’s a very practical arrangement born out of necessity. We don't have any fancy mission statements or a board of directors in suits. It’s just us, sitting in a circle at Manoj’s house, trying to plan for the next season. The weather in Purba Medinipur can be really unpredictable, and we’ve all had seasons where things didn't go as planned. Being part of this group helps take the sting out of those bad times. We aren't polished talkers, and we don't have a big marketing plan. We’re just simple people who know how to work the land and want to make sure we can keep doing it for years to come. It’s a lot of hard work and we don't always get it right, but we’re doing our best for our families and our village.
