Diganta Farmers Producer Company Limited

Diganta Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of a village called Erashalpo Nandapur in the Purba Medinipur district. We operate out of Raipada Guria’s place, which is a familiar spot for everyone around here. This isn't a city office with glass walls or anything like that. We are right in the middle of the countryside where the actual farming happens. Most of us are locals who know the land and the people who work it every day. Our group was formed to help the farmers in our area get a better handle on their produce. Instead of working alone, we try to coordinate things so we have a bit more say in what happens with our crops. It involves a lot of meetings under the shade or in the small room we use for our records. We talk about seeds, fertilizers, and when the best time to sell is. Sometimes the roads in the village get very muddy when it rains, making it hard to move things, but we manage. People stop by Raipada's house to talk shop or just to see what the latest news from the market is. It is a very hands-on way to do business, and everyone knows everyone else. We aren't looking to become some giant corporation, we just want our local farming community to do a bit better each year. It’s hard work, and the sun is often very hot, but it is our life here in Purba Medinipur and we enjoy the community.
