Conspicuous Social Research & Development Association

We are located in the small village of Uttar Darua in the Contai area of Purba Medinipur. Our group works out of a space provided by Ashis Maity. It is not a big office like you see in the city, just a simple place where we gather to talk about social research and development. We spend our days looking at how our local community is changing and what kind of help people might need. Sometimes we walk through the village and just talk to our neighbors about their lives. It is slow and quiet work. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, mostly just some notebooks and a few old desks. The weather here can be quite hot, so we usually start our work early in the morning before it gets too bad. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our small corner of it. People in the village know us well and often stop by to see what we are doing. We try to keep our research practical and easy to understand. It’s not about big theories for us. It’s about the real things happening here in Purba Medinipur. We’ve been here for a while and we plan to keep doing this as long as we can. It’s just honest work by a few local folks who care about where they live. We don't have any big corporate goals, just a desire to understand our community a bit better.
