Biswajit Tea

If you head out to Village Bagpura, near Balisai and the Ramnagar police station, you’ll find us. Biswajit Tea is a small operation, really. We’re deep in Purba Medinipur, so life moves at a different pace than the big cities. Most of our day is spent dealing with local growers and making sure our storage area stays dry. The post office is just a short walk away, which is handy for the little bit of paperwork we have to send out. We don’t have any grand slogans. We just sell tea to people who want it. Our building is nothing special, just a sturdy place to keep the stock. Sometimes the birds get inside and we have to chase them out. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when a big shipment arrives. Then it’s all hands on deck to get everything sorted and stacked. We get a lot of dust on our clothes by the end of the shift. The neighbors usually stop by for a chat, and we might share a cup if things aren't too frantic. We’ve been in Bagpura long enough that everyone knows the name Biswajit. We don't try to be something we’re not. We just handle the tea, count the bags, and try to make sure everything is where it belongs before we head home for the night. We’re not looking to expand into some big city company. We like it here in Bagpura and the tea business has been good enough for us all these years.
