Akdas Micro Foundation is the name we use for all our local work. It is a small place, nothing too fancy or impressive to look at. We have a basic desk and some chairs and a whole lot of papers everywhere. Being in Bhupatinagar means we are right in the middle of the daily community life. We see the same faces passing by every single day. Amit is usually the one who handles the people who walk in. Folks come in with questions about small loans or how they should manage their tiny businesses. We try our best to explain things in a way that actually makes sense to them. We do not use big words or any of those complicated terms. The office can get a bit crowded on the local market days. We do not mind the extra noise at all. It is just part of living and working here. We have had to fix the roof once or twice after the heavy monsoon rains came through. It is just an ordinary building on an ordinary street. We are not a big bank or anything like that. We just help out where we can. Most of our work is done face-to-face with our neighbors. We like it that way because it feels real.
