Surya Beverages

If you head out to Village Dumra in the Burdwan district, you will find Surya Beverages. Our post office is Trilok Chandrapur and the police station is Kanksa. It’s a bit of a drive out here, away from the main city rush. The air is a little different than in town, and it's mostly fields and small houses around us. We have a decent-sized space for the bottling and storage. Most of the people who work here live in the village or close by in the district. We start our shift early to beat the afternoon heat. There is always a lot of clinking of glass and the sound of the pumps running. We handle the crates and the deliveries ourselves most of the time. The road leading to the village can be a bit narrow, so the delivery trucks have to be careful when they come in. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the noise of the machines. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People around here just know where we are if they need something. We spend our days making sure the bottles are filled and the caps are on tight. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s what we do. Sometimes we sit outside for a break when things are slow. It’s just a normal beverage unit in a normal village.
