Our main base is out in Village Kalia, in the Bhado area under the Ratua police station. It’s a proper rural setting, which is where we do most of our work. The office is actually at Safikul Islam’s place. We don’t have a big sign or a fancy building. It’s just where we meet to talk about the projects we’ve got going on in the surrounding villages. Being out here in Malda means we’re far away from the big city offices, and that suits us just fine. We know every road and every corner of this area. Our work is mostly about building what the local people need, whether it’s a house or something for the community. It’s hard, physical work, and we’re often out in the sun or dealing with the mud when it rains. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy brochures. We just talk to people face-to-face and get things settled with a handshake most of the time. Every day brings a different challenge, like a truck getting stuck or a shortage of bricks, but we just manage it. We’re just a group of local people who know how to build things. We take pride in the fact that we’re part of this village and that our work helps people here. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living, and we’re happy with it.
