Protimaa Tea House

Balgona village is where we sit, right in the heart of the Bhatar area. You can find us if you head toward the post office here. Protimaa Tea House isn't some fancy place you’d find in a big city. It’s just us, some benches, and a lot of tea being made throughout the day. People walk in from the village at all hours, usually just looking for a quick break or someone to talk to for a few minutes. We keep the kettle going from early morning until the sun starts to go down. Most days it gets quite dusty outside because of the road, but that doesn't seem to stop anyone from coming by. We don’t have any big signs or anything. It's just a spot where the locals know to find us. Sometimes the power goes out in Balgona, and we just light a couple of candles and keep serving whoever is sitting there. It’s a simple life out here in this part of West Bengal. We handle the tea ourselves and make sure there’s enough for everyone who stops. The shop has been here for a while now, and the walls show a bit of age, but that’s just how it is. We aren't trying to change much. If you're passing through Bhatar and end up in our village, you’ll see us right there. It’s a practical place for practical people who just want a cup of tea without any fuss.
