Orgram Rice Mill Private Limited is located out in Tikarhat, near Lakuddi in the Burdwan district. We are right in the middle of rice country here. The mill is a busy place, especially during the harvest season when the trucks are coming in and out all day long. We handle the processing of the grain, turning it into the rice that people eat. It is a dusty, noisy environment, but that is just what a rice mill is like. We do not have a fancy office. Most of our work happens on the floor with the machinery. We have been in Burdwan for a long time. The team is mostly local guys who know how to run the equipment. We do not have any corporate slogans. We just focus on the bags of rice. Sometimes the machines break and we have to spend all night fixing them so we don't fall behind. It is hard, physical work. The weather plays a big part in what we do, especially the rain. We have to keep everything dry and moving. We aren’t trying to be a global brand. We just want to do our job in Tikarhat and make sure the mill keeps running smoothly. It is a basic business. We wake up early, do the work, and go home tired. That is how it has always been for us here. We don't change much. We just stick to what we know, which is processing rice for the people who need it.
