Oldchild Foundation

If you go down Kendwa Road in Kultia, Asansol, you will find us at 1001 Sahimohalla. We have been part of this Burdwan community for some time now. Oldchild Foundation isn't a name you'll see on billboards, but for the folks around here, we are a familiar sight. The office is right in the middle of where people live, so we hear the sounds of the street all day long. It makes us feel connected to what's happening. We decided to start this because we saw things that needed fixing and thought, why not us? It’s not a complicated setup. We have some desks, a few chairs, and a lot of papers to keep track of. The name might sound a bit different to some, but it means something to us about the cycle of life and helping both ends of it. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just a few local people putting in the hours. Some days are slow, and other days everyone seems to need something at once. We don't mind. We prefer being busy. People stop by to chat or ask for advice on local matters. We do what we can. Being in Asansol means we are used to the heat and the bustle. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a practical way to live, and it keeps us grounded in the reality of the neighborhood.
