Gouri Devi Hospital & Research Institute sits right on G.T. Road in the Rajbandh area of Durgapur. It is a large building, so you really can't miss it when you are driving past. Since we are a research institute as well as a hospital, there is always a lot going on. Doctors and students are constantly moving through the hallways. It can get a bit overwhelming with the amount of people coming and going every single day. We deal with everything from basic stuff to much more complicated health issues. Being on a major road like G.T. Road means we get a lot of emergency cases too. The hospital stays open all night, and there is always someone on duty. We have different departments for different things, which keeps us on our toes. Durgapur is a busy city, and Rajbandh is a key spot for us to be located. It is not always easy working in such a big place, but we manage. Some days are quieter than others, but that is rare. Most of the staff has been here for years, and we have seen the hospital grow quite a bit over that time. It feels like a big community within a city. We focus on the work at hand and try to keep things moving as smoothly as we can for everyone who visits. It is a noisy place sometimes with the sirens and the city traffic, but we just keep doing what we do every day.
