Department Of Pathology Vivekananda Hospital

Our lab is the Department Of Pathology over at Vivekananda Hospital in Durgapur. We spend most of our time looking at slides and dealing with all the samples that come in from the different wards. Durgapur is a busy place and the hospital gets a lot of people coming through every day. It’s not the most glamorous job sitting in a lab, but it’s what we do. The hospital itself is a well-known landmark around here. We’re just tucked away in our section doing the testing and making sure the results are ready. It’s a lot of standing and sitting and focusing on the small details. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold and other times the machines make a lot of noise, but you get used to it after a while. We aren’t a big corporate team or anything like that, just a group of staff members who have worked together for a long time. We know each other’s habits and how the day usually flows. Durgapur has its own rhythm and our hospital is a big part of that. We see a lot of faces, though we mostly see the paperwork and the vials. It’s a steady job and we try to keep things organized as best as we can. Nothing fancy, just the daily routine of a pathology department in a busy hospital. We just get through the lists and make sure everything is sorted out before we go home.
