Our office is located at Kalidasi Shil’s place in the Baramitrapara neighborhood. It is near Kalna in the Purba area of the state. The location is pretty easy to find once you get into the village and look around. We have been here for a while, and the neighbors are used to seeing people coming in and out of the gate. It is not a corporate office with lots of glass and steel. It is just a regular building where we do our daily work and keep our files. We spend our time looking over papers and helping people with their small savings accounts. It is the kind of place where you can sit down and have a glass of water while we look up your account details. We do not use a lot of fancy technology, just the basics that get the job done properly. Sometimes we have to wait for the power to come back on to use the computer, but we have our paper books ready just in case of an emergency. It keeps us grounded and keeps things moving. We know most of the families around Baramitrapara. We see their kids growing up and going to school. It makes the work feel more personal than a big bank. We are not looking to become some giant company. We just want to stay here and keep doing what we do for the local folks.
